On the hunt for trees, in Germany

I went looking for trees to climb in Germany. Along the way I found a few castles.

This tree-hunting is hard work. I frequently had to stop to replenish my supplies.

Alas, I didn't really find any suitable trees to climb. Maybe there will be better ones in Portland!

Pumpkin Carving Fun

It's that time of year again, pumpkin carving. I didn't realize how hard it is to choose a good pumpkin. like Goldilocks, I had a hard time finding one that was just right.

This one is TOO BIG!I thought this was going to be good, but it was TOO SCARY!

Finally I found this small one, it was just the right size and not too mean looking. Now for pie. . .

A Cheap Flight and Beautiful Views

Hey Cousin!

For the last couple of months I have been an au pair for this great couple in Amsterdam. They have the cutest little boy.

I had last weekend off so I hopped on a cheap flight out of this flat treeless country and went looking for moutains.

Ummm, beer, trees, moutains.

Now, those are moutains!

If these are in monkey times, I think I can make it there.

Jumping the fence and going in for a closer look!

Looking forward to more travels.

Texas to Las Vegas road trip

I bought a plane ticket to Houston Texas, but could only afford a one-way. I met some nice women that were driving from Houston back to Las Vegas who needed a navigator. I'm pretty good with maps so I offered to join them on their adventure.

Man, these Texans are really proud of Texas.

we stopped at the Davey Crocket Memorial in central Texas. There is an inscription
on this statue that says, "be sure you are right, then go ahead". Crocket wasn't a particularly
loquoacious man, but had a good point. These were the only good climbing trees I saw in Texas.

We stopped in Socorro NM, not much to see there. I hadn't seen any trees for quite a while, so I took a rocket up to try to find some. I thought I found some in Arizona, but I guess I was confused. They weren't trees they were rocks that looked like trees! I stopped at Petrified Forest National Park to get a better look at them. They are all laying on the ground so they really aren't good for climbing, just sitting.

Harvest in Washington

I found work in eastern Washington as a combine driver. I'm not very good at it though, because I don't like staying in the confines of this rattle trap all day and I can't reach all of the levers. Eastern Washington is nice, but there aren't enough trees here. The job includes room and board though, and the food is excellent.

I'm off to Washington!

I've done it! I "borrowed" Denise's pickup and drove north through Nevada, southern Idaho, eastern Oregon and finally to Washington camping on the way. I saw the Thousand Springs in Idaho and crossed the Snake River several times. I was right about the trees in Oregon, Excellent for Climbing! I don't know what kind of work a monkey can find in Washington, but I need to make some money so I can keep travelling. What FUN!

Hello, I'm monkey. I was made in Las Vegas Nevada, USA. But I long for adventure. The trees in southern Nevada are too pokey to be much good for climbing. I dream of camping in the Pacific Northwest.
